Unreliable connectivity between remote sites
-
Growing demands for secure access to video evidence
That’s where Genetec Security Center SaaS changes the game.
1️⃣ Unified Security, Simplified Deployment
Genetec SaaS brings together video surveillance, access control, and cloud connectivity in one secure platform. Whether you manage a police headquarters, city hall, or a K-12 campus, you can view and manage all sites from a single pane of glass.
No more juggling multiple logins or complex VPNs. The cloud-native design allows agencies and schools to deploy new locations or add devices without building expensive local servers — making it faster, simpler, and more cost-effective to scale.
2️⃣ Resilience When Connectivity Fails
Public safety can’t stop when the internet drops.
Genetec SaaS — combined with Genetec Cloudlink appliances — keeps video and data recording operational even when the connection to the cloud is lost.
This hybrid approach ensures:
-
Local recording continuity during outages
-
Automatic synchronization once connectivity is restored
-
No compromise between video quality and bandwidth
For police departments and schools in rural areas or with unreliable networks, that’s true peace of mind.
3️⃣ Secure, Compliant, and Always Up to Date
Cyber threats don’t take days off — and neither does Genetec SaaS.
Built on Microsoft Azure and backed by Genetec’s rigorous cybersecurity framework, the system ensures:
-
Encrypted communications end-to-end
-
Multi-factor authentication and access controls
-
Automatic updates and patch management
This helps agencies and schools meet compliance standards without relying on already-stretched IT resources.
4️⃣ Scalable for Every Budget and Mission
Whether you’re protecting a small district police department or a large municipal network, Genetec SaaS adapts to your needs.
Start with a few cameras or doors — and expand seamlessly as funding or priorities evolve.
The subscription model eliminates large upfront costs and simplifies budgeting, making it easier for public agencies to modernize their systems while staying within procurement guidelines (like the Texas DIR Contract DIR-CPO-5287, available through Teksys).
5️⃣ Faster Evidence Sharing and Collaboration
When incidents occur, speed and coordination are critical.
Genetec SaaS enables secure, web-based sharing of video evidence with investigators, school administrators, or emergency response teams — from anywhere, on any device.
No more downloading large files or couriering USB drives — authorized personnel can access what they need instantly, improving both investigation time and inter-agency cooperation.
The Future of Public Safety Is Connected — and It’s Here
As cities and schools face increasing safety and connectivity challenges, Genetec SaaS delivers a smarter, more resilient way forward. It unites surveillance, access control, and analytics in the cloud — empowering your teams to act faster, work smarter, and keep your community safe.

Transforming Houston’s East End: How Teksys and Partners Are Powering Public Safety at Harrisburg Plaza
Houston’s historic East End is undergoing a remarkable transformation. Once known primarily as an industrial and commercial hub, this community is evolving into a vibrant residential neighborhood — and with growth comes new challenges in safety, mobility, and infrastructure.
At Teksys, we’re proud to partner with the East End District and trusted technology providers to deliver a forward-looking public safety ecosystem at Harrisburg Plaza. This deployment is more than cameras and radios — it’s about creating safer streets, stronger connections, and a higher quality of life for the community.
The Challenge
As the East End shifted toward residential development, longstanding infrastructure challenges became increasingly urgent:
-
Narrow streets and poor intersection visibility raised safety concerns for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
-
Increased transit activity led to more congestion, loitering, and petty crime.
-
With limited space for wired infrastructure and no backhaul locations, the district needed a resilient wireless system to tie everything together.
Adding to the complexity, the RF spectrum in the area is congested by METRO Light Rail and local commercial traffic — making interference resistance a must.
The Solution
Working hand-in-hand with Altowav, the East End District, and other trusted partners, Teksys designed and delivered a multi-layered solution that balances performance, reliability, and scalability.
Key components include:
-
16 Altowav K60 60GHz radios — providing high-bandwidth, interference-resistant wireless connectivity.
-
Bosch and Hanwha video analytics — monitoring traffic, pedestrian safety, and community activity in real time.
-
EAGL gunshot detection sensors — adding an extra layer of proactive safety.
-
Genetec Security Center — serving as the unified platform for management and response.
The Impact
The system went live on April 4, 2025, and the results were immediate:
-
🚓 Faster emergency response times
-
🚶 Improved pedestrian and cyclist safety
-
👮 Valuable support for police investigations
-
🏙️ Stronger business engagement and community satisfaction
As our CEO David Madrigal put it:
“Deploying this solution in the East End District wasn’t just about adding cameras or infrastructure — it was about taking a proactive step toward real community impact. With Altowav’s support and technology, we’ve helped create a safer environment for residents and businesses, improved emergency response, and brought a renewed sense of security to an area in transition.”
National Recognition
The Harrisburg Plaza project has already drawn national attention. In January 2025, the Federal Railroad Administration awarded $3.4 million to support the East End Triangle R.A.I.L.S. Plan, directly complementing smart safety deployments like this one. Houston’s major news outlets — including Fox 26, KHOU 11, and Click2Houston — have highlighted the district’s leadership in public safety and rail safety innovation.

Across Texas and beyond, mail theft has surged, becoming a major concern for property managers, HOAs, and facility developers. Criminals target mailboxes in business parks, apartment complexes, and gated communities — stealing checks, credit cards, and personal information that can lead to identity theft.
For property managers, stolen mail leads to tenant complaints, lost trust, and added operational headaches. HOAs face frustrated homeowners and decreased property values. Business park developers risk harming their tenant relationships when sensitive business correspondence is intercepted.
Why Mail Theft is Hard to Stop
These crimes are often carried out by organized teams using stolen or disguised vehicles. They strike quickly and move from one community to another, making it difficult for traditional security patrols to track or catch them. Without modern technology, identifying and prosecuting offenders can take weeks — if it happens at all.
How Teksys is Helping Communities Stay Safe and Prosperous
At Teksys, we know that secure properties create thriving, attractive communities. Our mission is to help property managers, HOAs, and facility developers protect residents, tenants, and mail services using the latest in security innovation.
1. Genetec Cloudrunner – Vehicle Intelligence for Fast Investigations
Cloudrunner is a vehicle-centric investigative platform that helps security teams:
-
Identify suspect vehicles in low-light or poor weather conditions
-
Track vehicle movement patterns to spot repeat offenders
-
Share critical leads with law enforcement instantly
This means mail thieves can’t just switch cars and disappear — they leave a trail that Cloudrunner makes easy to follow.
2. ElectricEye AI Technology with Speaker Horns & Strobes – Stopping Crime Before It Happens
ElectricEye’s Active Scene Intelligence™ analyzes behavior and intent in real time, not just motion. When suspicious activity is detected, speaker horns and strobe lights can be activated to warn intruders:
-
Speaker Horns: Live security operators can announce, “You are being recorded. Leave now.”
-
Strobe Lights: Flashing lights draw attention, making criminals feel exposed.
This proactive approach not only records the crime — it prevents it.
Why This Matters for Property Managers, HOAs, and Facility Developers
-
Fewer Incidents: Thieves are deterred from targeting protected properties.
-
Faster Investigations: Cloudrunner’s data helps close cases quickly.
-
Tenant & Resident Trust: Secure mail services boost satisfaction and retention.

In a community where freight trains, aging infrastructure, and rapid residential growth collide, the East End District of Houston needed more than just cameras—it needed a true partner to design and deliver an intelligent safety solution from the ground up.
That’s where Teksys came in.
With a legacy of providing end-to-end physical security systems for urban districts, campuses, and transit corridors, Teksys was selected to lead the deployment of a next-generation surveillance and analytics network as part of the District’s Road & Rail Safety Program. And in just three months, we turned a connectivity dead zone into one of the smartest safety corridors in the city.
🚦 The Challenge: Growing Risk, No Existing Infrastructure
The Coffee Plant and Ironworks corridor was facing serious threats: fatal rail-crossing incidents, growing vandalism, and near-constant congestion for pedestrians, cyclists, and emergency vehicles. The area had no fiber, no backhaul, and high RF interference due to surrounding light rail and commercial density.
Even worse, the existing infrastructure simply wasn’t built for today’s mobility needs. The District needed high-performance connectivity—and intelligent eyes on the street.
🎯 The Teksys Approach: Wireless, Visionary, Analytical
Teksys partnered with Altowav, Bosch, and Genetec to design a multi-layered safety solution that tackled the problem from every angle:
🔹 Wireless Connectivity
We deployed 10 Altowav K60 60GHz radios to deliver ultra-fast, low-latency backhaul without trenching fiber. These radios thrive in dense RF environments and were mounted quickly at key intersections.
🔹 Smart Surveillance
We integrated AI-enhanced Bosch FLEXIDOME® and DINION® cameras alongside Genetec AutoVu® license plate readers—providing high-resolution visibility across roadways, crossings, and sidewalks.
🔹 Real-Time Video Analytics
All video feeds are centralized through Genetec Security Center, where IVA Pro Traffic and AutoVu analytics track:
- Vehicle movement
- Pedestrian behavior
- License plate activity
- Real-time incident alerts
With this design, Teksys delivered not just surveillance—but situational awareness that supports first responders, urban planners, and public safety teams alike.
“This wasn’t just a camera job or a wireless install—this was an intelligent safety ecosystem. And we’re proud to bring it to life for a community that truly needed it,”
—David Madrigal, CEO, Teksys, Inc.
🚨 Immediate Results—and National Recognition
In the first week alone, the system helped identify a vandal targeting the historic Ironworks facility. Since then, it has improved:
- Emergency response coordination
- Traffic and rail condition monitoring
- First-responder routing efficiency
- Evidence capture and real-time validation of incidents
The project also gained coverage from Fox 26 Houston, KHOU 11, Click2Houston, and was highlighted in Congressional safety updates, thanks in part to a $2M grant from the Federal Railroad Administration.
➡️ What’s Next: Smarter Expansion Along Navigation Blvd
The East End District is already planning to expand this system to the Navigation Blvd Esplanade—leveraging Teksys’ proven integration of Bosch cameras, Altowav wireless radios, and Genetec analytics to scale a unified safety platform.
